OUR MISSION:

The South Asian Queer + Trans Collective (SAQTC) is a grassroots organization based in New York City. We aim to curate nurturing spaces for the South Asian and Indo-Caribbean LGBTQ+ diaspora and focus on community building where folks can connect. SAQTC firmly believes that LGBTQ+ friendships are revolutionary and the key to liberation! We serve to promote awareness, empower, and uplift voices of all sexual and gender identities.

We host monthly support group meetings, book clubs, and writing workshops!

WHAT WE BELIEVE:

Our collective is ever growing, evolving, and shifting. We recognize that our practice is rooted in the activism of Black lesbian + trans women. We strive to address systems of anti-blackness, casteism, transphobia, islamophobia, classism, and xenophobia.

We dedicate our ability to continue our work to Marsha P. Johnson and incredible trans women at the Stonewall Riots that fought for LGBTQ+ liberation.
